Right or wrong actions can be determined by suffering or non suffering. Very simple, what causes suffering to ourselves and others is the wrong thing to do. Whatever brings well being to ourselves or others is the right thing to do. It is of extreme importance to sit everyday and to look at ourselves to review our actions and to understand what is the energy that pushes us to move and act in the way we do.

All human beings have the energies of love and compassion within themselves. How do we find that complete wholesome energy to guide our actions?

I believe that the intention behind our actions is the fuel that we need to accomplish a life of love , happiness and joy. Understanding  and compassion lead us into the path of happiness.

We must cultivate a strong desire to help others. What is the intention behind our jobs and businesses? Are we creating a better world? Are we making other’s people’s lives more peaceful, joyful?

We do not have to become monks for this purpose, we can do it here and now in our own circle of friends and relatives. First we nurture all of that joy, happiness and bliss within ourselves and then we share that with other beings.

We practice meditation but that does not mean that we have no more fears and that everything is perfect but through this practice we learn  to look at our own emotions, embrace them and  later transform them into love, compassion and understanding. We go back and take care of our own consciousness.

Do not run away from pain, it is there for all of us to experience but know also that happiness is possible.

The Buddha’s Four Noble Truths say:

1 – Suffering exists

2 – Suffering has causes

3 – Happiness is possible

4 – There is a Path that leads to happiness

We do not have to be afraid of suffering , we must confront it  and only after that we transform it.

We always have to go back to ourselves, first recognizing the suffering within ourselves, embrace it, transform it and only after we can be there for our families, company, friends, school and community.

Power is of extreme importance specially to increased our happiness and the one of others. Next time you can take a moment to reflect on your life look at the intention behind your job, your actions and your whole life in general. There is nothing wrong with making money but it is much better if we make it in a way that it is not destructive. We must use our money to help others to achieve a better, more peaceful life.

What are we doing for the benefit of humankind and the environment?
